SCADASupervisory Control And Data Acquisition is a category of software application program for proccess control, the gathering of data in real time from remote locations in order ro contrl equipmet an conditions. |
|
The basic SCADA architecture begins with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or remote terminal units (RTUs). PLCs and RTUs are microcomputers that communicate with an array of objects such as factory machines, HMIs, sensors, and end devices, and then route the information from those objects to computers with SCADA software. The SCADA software processes, distributes, and displays the data, helping operators and other employees analyze the data and make important decisions.
Monitor from a remote location 24/7 |
Reduce costs - normally associated with man-power |
Having a reliable automated system working 24/7 |
Logging of data |
SCADA can be used to manage many kinds of gear. Typically, SCADA systems are used to automate complex industrial processes where human control is impractical. Around the world, SCADA systems are used in many industries. These include: Manufacturing, building, facilities and environments, electric power generation, transmission and distribution, water and sewage, mass transit and traffic signals. |
